perfect for a little baby born during the winter months
my little guy loved wearing these around the house during the day and for quick trips outside to the car. the lightweight fleece is the perfect weight to be warm enough to go outside for little bits of time but still cool enough to wear inside. three minor complaints -- i wish the legs had snaps too, because its hard to get his legs in sometime. the top snap is just a bit too high, so i worry about it being too tight around his neck. the wrists are also a bit too tight, so it was hard to get him into it as he grew, even though it still fit him. regardless, i bought two of these and used them constantly.

Who likes complicated and confusing?
When I go camping, the "setting up & taking down" of my tent is the part that sucks. Really sucks.
This tent is amazing. The day it showed up, I took it out of the box and set it up (just me - no one helping) in under a minute (not counting the stakes)!!
You just unfold it, extend the legs, and walk in. How awesome is that?
Don't believe me? Check Youtube. Type in "Instant Tent", look for the one with a girl in a bright yellow KOA shirt. That's the video that sold me on this tent.

It has LOTS of ventilation. the 2 sides have a large window, the back has a HUGE window. The front has a window in the door, and a window next to the door. Did I mention there are two roof vents? Yup. The roof vents have zippers on them, and a rigid "prop" thing. There's velcro on the top flap, on the top of the prop, and on the bottom of the prop (the bottom of the prop is sewn to the tent as well). You can open the roof vents from...

2. Love this Tent . . But. .
Used this tent for the first time this past weekend. Super easy to set up/take down!
Lots of room for the two of us. However, I can't imagine six people fitting in this at all--
even four would be tight. The only disappointment was that it leaked. We had a rainstorm
one night that lasted about 5 hours. Not windy, just rain. We were cold and damp -- the tent leaked badly,
especially in the areas of the 2 inside pockets, and other places as well. So . . . we purchased a large
screen house to put over the tent for next time. Hopefully, that will help keep us dry. Live and learn.
In my opinion, this tent definitely needs a rain fly. Hope this helps anyone who is considering this item.
Forgot to mention that days before we left for the camp, I set up the tent and gave 2 coats of "Camp Dry."
That didn't prevent leaks either. Just be prepared if you are using this tent in the rain --

so easy, but not perfect
We just returned from camping in this tent. First time out of the box I think we had the thing set up in under two minutes. It could easily be done in 60 seconds or less next time. It reminds me of setting up our graco pack and play. I LOVED the way it set up! I was really surprised that it comes down just as easy. Fitting it back in the original bag took a couple minutes, but not any more than other tents we've had.
However, I was surprised by a few things left off. There are only two little pockets inside the tent on the side walls. I expected to find a pocket in the roof too. So we had to crawl over each other if you wanted car keys early in the morning, etc. There were only two small roof vents. If you camp in summer I think this tent would get hot. In my opinion the biggest mistake was there is no way to tie the windows open. THe are made so you can kind of tuck them in themselves, but that didn't work even in our light breeze. We tried sleeping with the windows...

Sturdy summer tent
This is a nice, spacious SUMMER tent. Don't even think about using it if its spring/fall and the temperatures might drop, but its fantastic in hot weather, rain or not. Also this isn't a tent for windy conditions due to its high profile. I can set this tent up alone, although getting the rain fly over the top can be a bit tricky on my own, it does eventually get there. I hadn't thought about how tough it would be for 65" tall me to get a rain fly over the 78" top of a 10x17' tent! I bought this tent for summer camping when rain was a likely complication, when I am NOT packing it more than a few yards from the vehicle. (It is a heavy tent.) It holds a table, chairs, cot, gear, and dog quite comfortably and is ridiculously spacious when I am camping alone. When a group is camping and the weather goes wet, it becomes a great place for people to get together out of the rain and have coffee, play cards, etc. I do think the "cool port" thing is about the dumbest looking thing I...

I confess: when I first heard of BabyLegs, I thought they were yet another gimmick to part new parents from their money. But I kept hearing about them, and everyone had such nice things to say. So when my grandmother sent Christmas money, I went on and ordered a pair. (I got Fresca.) These things are right up there with the Kindle, Sleepy Wrap, steam mop, and Thirsties diaper covers on the list of Things That Make My Life Easier. Fresca's colors match Carter's colors perfectly, they make diaper changes a breeze, they keep her warm when she refuses to wear anything else, and they look utterly adorable. I will be ordering more, especially when the baby starts to crawl.

My daughter is 5 months old, and I know these will last her until she is probably 2 years. They are so cute, and very convenient for diaper changes. They have also allowed us to wear all the cute onsies and dresses that it otherwise would have been too cold to wear this winter.

Great legwarmers!
These legwarmers turned out to be really great. I have purchased other legwarmers from Babylegs in the past, and was not as satisfied. They were newborn size and my daughter never fit them properly even though she was only 3 weeks old when they were purchased. They left marks on her skin in the thigh area. However, when I purchased this pair I bought the regular size. The bands around the top and bottom of the "Fresca" style are very stretchy and I think she will be able to wear these for a long time. She is currently wearing them at 11 weeks old and they fit well but not so snug that there isn't room to grow. She seemed comfortable in them and they didn't leave marks. The multicolor stripe allows you to pair them with lots of different onesies. They make diaper changes really easy and I can see that they'll probably be great for when she starts crawling to protect her knees. I'm very happy with this purchase!

1. Finally, a rainfly... What vestibule?
Yes, after a lot of customer feedback Coleman finally decided to release a rainfly for their Instant Tent line. As seen in my pictures above it comes in a similar pouch and it has the same tie-down lines and pin-style stakes as the tents themselves. As of this writing I have yet to find any information on this item from Coleman themselves. Most of what I read before purchasing my Instant Tent 6 was on the FJ Cruiser Forum at [...], and the Expedition Portal forum at [...].

The rainfly itself is pretty much what you expect, a very tight weave of poly fabric with double-stitched seams, and it should work well. Considering all the Instant Tent reviews talking about leaking this should have been an available accessory from the very beginning, and if Coleman's smart about it they should start including it with the purchase of a new tent. A rainfly not only helps keep you dry when it rains, it also provides the air gap that becomes an extra bit of insulation in winter and summer...

2. Wrong Description!
The product description is only accurate for the Australian/UK version of the rainfly. The Australian version actually does "create a vestibule" and it also includes two telescoping steel poles and guy lines to hold it up. The Australian/UK rainfly actually covers the whole tent, providing actual privacy and protection form real rain, the kind that hits the tent sideways and diagonally during a real rainstorm. The U.S.A. version of the rainfly is just for decoration, or when the rain falls perfectly vertical from the sky.

Well, it did keep the rain out...
I bought this last year in March for what was then an upcoming camping trip where we were expecting some rain and wind. I must say it worked wonders for keeping the rain out of my tent. However, the heat that myself and the one other person in the tent let off caused a massive amount of condensation to form inside. I have used the tent before and since, with no such outcome. With the fly on, I could not ventilate enough and still keep us dry from the rain. I don't know how we would have fared without the fly in the rain. But, I do know that we that it didn't allow any moisture to enter. So, in that respect it failed. Had there not been as much wind that night i may have been able to open the windows of the tent a little more without the fear of water entering. Maybe I will give it another try on a less windy/rainy night. As for the ease of use with this fly...it is one of the easiest I have ever used. No fiddling with tension rods to create vestibules and whatnot. I simply though it...

This Backpacking Tents give to us some advantages, like this :

Sometimes good is better than perfect! I needed a cheap, easy to set up without stakes car camping tent. I have expedition tents and backpacking tents that are far more expensive, but they would not work any better for short overnights so why wear them out?

The oddest thing about this tent is the little zipper by the front door... designed to let you thread an extension cord into the tent! So it's targeted for back-yard campers and it does that job extremely well.

It's heavy but the poles are sturdy and the floor is the same durable material you buy as blue poly tarps. The rain fly has nice eaves that keep the rain out even if you have the door unzipped for ventillation. I wouldn't bet on the fly remaining attached in a strong wind, but when that happens you'll probably roll up your extension cord and go inside!

2. Good tent BUT....
I purchased this tent in April 2011 and used it on 4 camping trips that year. I was very happy with the tent. Easy to set-up and kept me dry during heavy rains. However, in May of 2012, I went camping for the first time. After arriving at the campsite, I found out that one of the tent poles was in 9 pieces...the internal elastic cord had broken during the winter storage! Luckily I was able to repair the pole with paracord and the weekend was not lost. But be warned, these tent poles are made with cheap elastic cords. In fact they are 5 strands of THIN rubber bands with a nylon cord cover. Once the nylon cover frays (and it will because the poles fold up for storage) the rubber bands WILL break. So it's safe to say my happiness with the tent has turned to disappointment. If you buy this tent, have a tent pole repair kit handy or bring extra cordage, just in case!
